Morning talk with Harrison Schmitt: Apollo 17: 45 years and Counting
Harrison Schmitt
HARRISON SCHMITT was the lunar module pilot of Apollo 17, and the only scientist to have walked the surface of the Moon. Schmitt is an American geologist and was NASA’s first scientist astronaut. His interest in space was fuelled when he was in Norway in 1957 as a Fulbright Fellow at the University of Oslo and the Russians successfully launched Sputnik. He is the second to last person to walk on the Moon. Schmitt was later university professor and senator. Now he has offered to do a general talk as a part of the Starmus in the City Program. Apollo 17: 45 years and counting!
The talk will be held in English and is free of charge.
